Description

Frank Godwin Connie Sunday Comic Strip Partial Original Art dated 10-4 (Ledger Syndicate, 1930s). Connie was Godwin's adventurous prelude to Rusty Riley, running from 1927-41 and boasting a storybook illustrative style in keeping with an epic-scale attitude. This lovely specimen is the lower half of a Sunday-comics spread, depicting the launching of a mighty spacecraft. The formal dating (lower right) matches up with the corresponding Sunday in October of 1935 on a universal calendar. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 20.75" x 11.5". Vertical crease at upper edge, with light toning. Very Good condition.
