Description

Lee Elias - Original Cover Art for Fighting Fronts! #1 (Harvey, 1952). Sometimes you just can't ask why! Sometimes you just got to... do or die! So says this cover from 1952, drawn by Lee Elias, featuring a gung-ho American soldier ramming a supply truck into a Korean tank, and you can guess what kind of fireworks that kicks up! This incendiary cover is Elias at his best, with all the details and textures that make his war work so engaging. Measuring an overall 13" x 18.5" with an image area of 11" x 16", this forceful piece is a thrill to behold. The work suffers slightly from an overall staining, across the entire piece, which is especially heavy in the center area. There are some notes in red pen and pencil along the bottom and right edges, which are indications for the printer. The work is still clear and the lines are cleanly defined.
