Scooby-Doo on Skis Illustration by Jack Manning (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1970s). Zoinks! Here's a great illustration of Scooby-Doo about to ski off a cliff, done for merchandising/publicity purposes by Jack Manning. In the world of Funny Animal comic books, Mr. Manning is revered as one of the very best artists. In the 1950s, his art could be seen in comics starring Mickey Mouse and many other Disney, Warner Brothers, and Walter Lantz characters. Jack was hired by Hanna-Barbera as an animator and design artist in 1959, and he continued to do comic book work with H-B characters for Gold Key/Western Publishing. This Scooby art is in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of approximately 13" x 13". Condition is Very Good, with minor handling wear.
