Description

Phil Davis Mandrake the Magician Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 6-17-44 (King Features Syndicate, 1944). This superb episode finds Davis taking advantage of the broad horizontal area to compose two wide-screen disaster scenes -- a drowning for an enemy, and imminent danger for Mandrake and his partners-in-adventure. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 16" x 5". Apart from glue stains left behind by peeled Zipatone shading, the art is in Very Good condition.
