John Wayne Adventure Comics #3 (Toby Publishing, 1950) CGC VF/NM 9.0 White pages. A big star like John Wayne deserves quality artists drawing his comic, and it's tough to beat Al Williamson (especially when he's got his buddy Frank Frazetta helping him out). This is early Williamson, too, predating his work for EC. But back to John Wayne -- the Duke is in all his glory on photo covers both front and back. Only one copy of this issue has been certified with a higher grade by CGC to date. Overstreet 2004 VF/NM 9.0 value = $646; NM- 9.2 value = $860. CGC census 12/04: 1 in 9.0, 1 higher.CGC Grader Notes:
