Description

George Metzger Beyond Time and Again Story Page 41 Original Art (Kyle & Wheary, 1976). Touted as "America's first graphic novel", the self-contained Beyond Time and Again made a début at the 1976 San Diego Comic Convention. The episodic adventure tells of a wizard's journey through time and magic. This page was crafted in ink and Zipatone over graphite on illustration board with an image area of 19" x 13.5". Effective use of white-on-black Zipatone (lower left) to convey a ghostly image. The blankness of Panel 8 is deliberate, depicting a light that "casts no shadow." The lightly toned board is in Very Good condition.
