Description

Stanley Armstrong (as Armi) Yarns of Bos'n Bill Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 9-25-31 (World Color Printing, c. 1930-31). The titular character, Ship's Bosun Bill, and the crew avert a mutiny on this exciting bit of misadventure titled "Ho-Ho! A Little Joke on Treasure-Stealers". The first panel is blank, as that is where the text version of the story would be fitted during production. The hand-typed text version is included on two sheets of typing paper. A short-lived feature, it only ran from July 1930 until November 1931. This one is dated 9-25-31 on the reverse, but may be unpublished after all. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 19.25" x 25.5". Signed as "Armi" in the logo panel. In Excellent condition.
