Description

Virgil Ross - Witch Hazel and Bugs Bunny Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Witch Hazel is concocting a batch of witch's brew on Halloween, and needs a rabbit's clavicle when trick-or-treater Bugs shows up in costume, in the 1956 Chuck Jones-directed short, Broom-Stick Bunny. Here's a great drawing inspired by that cartoon, created by master animator Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996). He worked on what is considered the first official Bugs Bunny cartoon, A Wild Hare (1940) during his many years at Warner Brothers, and was part of animation units headed by Tex Avery, Robert Clampett, and Friz Freleng. His limited edition "Masters Collection" cels were very popular, quickly selling out at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. The signed drawing is matted with an opening of 11.5" x 8.5" and framed with glass for an overall size of 17" x 14". The frame is sold as-is. Art condition is Fine.
