Description

Stan Freberg's Personal Photo and Memorabilia Archive Group (c. 1950s-2000s). Here's a group of rare photo prints directly from comedy/advertising legend Stan Freberg's personal files. Included are photos from early in Stan's career, with publicity photos from Capitol Records and Rhino Records; photos from public appearances, television, and with various celebrities (like Steve Allen, Gary Owens, and Patti Page). A scrapbook with eleven rare 8" x 10" photos focuses on television, with images of Stan doing a Western-themed skit (one photo shows Stan with a group of people holding lettered signs that spell out "FREBERG" -- in reverse; a partial image of a large prop TV set with what looks like "The Stan Freberg Show" on screen, possibly from a special or unaired pilot. In addition, there a copy of the sheet music to "Abe Snake For President" by Stan and Ruby Raksin, plus a folder marked (in Stan's handwriting) "Careful! Original Radio "Apocalypse Now" Script for Francis Coppola from S. F." with a two-page typed gag script inside. Loose photo prints range in size from 3.5" x 3.5" up to 12" x 8"; there are 22 loose prints in all. An amazing collection of photos from a true American genius! Overall condition Good to Fine.
