Description

Boat Builders Goofy Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1938). The Ben Sharpsteen-directed Boat Builders concerns the attempts of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy to assemble a "do-it-yourself" boat construction kit. Advertised as being "so simple, a child could do it", they quickly turn the project into a disaster. Near the end of the film, Goofy mistakes a mermaid figurehead for a live woman with amorous intentions! As she "leads" him across the deck in a flirtatious game of tag, Goofy somehow fails to notice that she is simply an inanimate object being carried by his good friend Mickey. "The Goof" is drawn with an image area of 3.75" x 3" in this hilarious animation drawing, a great open-eyed expression as he peers around a giant foghorn. This image can be seen at the 5:27 mark. Goofy is drawn in graphite with red pencil animation notes on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. The number "50" is written in the lower right corner. Paper has some minor handling and slight toning along the edges. In Very Good condition.
