Description

George Metzger Gothic Blimp Works "Mal-Ig" Page 9 Original Art (EVO, 1969).
Things are moving fast in this ninth page from George Metzger's epic wordless science-fiction opus, "Mal-Ig." While not as well-known as his Underground Comix contemporaries like Robert Crumb and Gilbert Shelton, Metzger's experimental, edgy work like this was important enough to earn a spot in the coveted (and short-lived) comix tabloid, Gothic Blimp Works, and "Mal-Ig" also found a home in Bill Spicer's excellent comics fanzine Graphic Story Magazine. The art for this page is in ink over blue pencil with Zipatone shading film and whiteout on a piece of 17" x 23.5" illustration board; image size is approximately 15" x 21". Condition is Very Good, with handling/edge wear and mild toning.
