Description
Morgan Kane Saturday Evening Post Story Illustration Painting Original Art dated 3-26-60 (Curtis Publishing, 1960). This large image of a Southern couple in front of a riverboat was created to introduce the story "Gambler's Girl" written by William Heuman. ("How do you tell a woman she's in love with a heel?") The watercolor piece has been water damaged, with stains in the 23" x 23" image area on the illustration board. There is a very small rip in the top edge, just above and to the left of the signature. The lot comes with two tearsheets from the issue showing the published piece. A secret bonus is on the backside of one of the tearsheets where there is an article about (then) newly divorced Debbie Reynolds. One of the photos shows a happy three-year-old Carrie Fisher playing with her brother Todd. The painting is in Good condition.More information about Morgan Kane. See also: Kane, Morgan Artist.
