Description

Mauro Innocenti (attributed) Delitto d' Amore Illustration Original Art (Incir De Paolis Studios, 1974). A fine example of Italian film-poster design, for director Luigi Comencini's Delitto d' Amore (or Crime of Love), from a studio more commonly associated with such horror-movie exports as Cannibal Holocaust and Suspiria. The artist conveys to subtle perfection the film's clash of social values between the romantic leads, a Sicilian woman and a Lombard man. The deep-brown area surrounding the image is itself a part of the art -- reserved for the film's title and cast-and-crew credits.
Opaque watercolor on heavy Illustration board. Image area, 13" x 19". Marginal toning. Excellent condition.
