Description

Fontaine Fox Toonerville Folks Daily Single-Panel Comic Strip Original Art (McNaught Syndicate, c. 1930s). A gem from Louisville, KY's most famous cartoonist. Fox's 'toons about a ramshackle trolley often dealt with the inefficiency of that rattletrap, but here he goes so far as to declare the vehicle downright slow. The upper caption contains the strip's seldom-used alternative title: The Toonerville Trolley That Meets All the Trains. Inscribed to a fan, Jack Kent, who would grow up to become the creator of a great comics-page fantasy, King Aroo. Image area, 9.5" x 11.5". Moderate toning, with push-pin punctures. Very Good condition. From the Jack Kent Collection.
