Bud Fisher Mutt and Jeff Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 3-18-19 (H.C. Fisher, 1919). A very large specimen of early-day comic-strip art -- over 29 inches in width -- from one of the inventors of the medium. Augustus Mutt displays his contempt for chivalry. His pal Jeff has a sarcastic comeback. An unusual sidebar strip (upper left) contains a bizarre act of violence. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 29" x 10.5".
