Boat Builders Goofy Animation Drawings Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1938).
"Hyuck! She wants to play!" Says Goofy in this Ben Sharpsteen-directed cartoon, Boat Builders. The short highlights the attempts of Mickey, Donald, and Pluto to assemble a "do-it-yourself" boat construction kit. Advertised as being "so simple, a child could do it", they quickly turn the project into a disaster - as only they can. When the boat, named the Queen Minnie, is christened by Minnie Mouse, the impact of the champagne bottle causes the rickety vessel to fall apart! Near the end of the film, Goofy mistakes a mermaid figurehead for a live woman - a woman with amorous intentions! As she "leads" him across the deck in a flirtatious game of tag, Goofy somehow fails to notice that she is simply an inanimate object being carried to her spot by his good friend Mickey. Goofy measures 5" tall in this sequence of four hilarious animation drawings - great open-eyed expression and full-body renderings, as he peers around a giant foghorn and then follows the "woman". You will find these images around the 5:45 mark in this short subject film. Goofy is drawn in graphite and colored pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. Paper has some minor handling and slight age-related toning. In Very Good condition.
