Edgar Church Dry Cleaning Advertisement Original Art (Church Studio, c. 1930s). One of the loveliest Art Deco adverts we've seen: Church, a legend among commercial designers, built this evocative piece to fit any number of cleaning-and-laundry clients, with generous blank spaces for a firm's name and telephone number. The resemblance to comic-strip and comics-page visual grammar is no coincidence. Church also was a comics enthusiast, and his files formed the basis of the legendary Mile High Collection of Golden Age titles. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 7.75" x 12.5". Faint toning. Excellent condition.
