Ian Carr Dragon's Star #1 Cover Original Art (Matrix Graphic Series, 1986). Marrik, the starship captain who also happens to be a dragon, and his human partner Chandra make their first-ever appearances on this striking cover. The indie sci-fi series, centered on the exploits of its rebellious, fire-breathing commander, was originally conceived as a five-issue run but wrapped after three. Even so, it found new life in 1989 with a Caliber trade paperback, followed by a two-issue continuation in 1994. Ink and white paint over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10.5" x 16.25". Light toning, with a hint of foxing, marginal production tape, whiteout touch-ups, pulled-tape abrasion on left edge, light smudging, and minor handling wear. Signed by Carr in the lower left image area. In Very Good condition.
