This is a gorgeous first-production copy of Final Fantasy VII, distinguished by the rare "Realistic Violence" text in the ESRB ratings box on the back. This printing is unique to the initial production run-later versions either misspelled or corrected the word "Masterpiece", resulting in the removal of the "Realistic Violence" designation entirely. This title represented the franchise's historic leap from Nintendo to Sony's PlayStation and was instrumental in bringing Japanese RPGs into the mainstream Western market. It took full advantage of the console's capabilities with full-motion video, pre-rendered backgrounds, and a lush soundtrack by Nobuo Uematsu that has taken on a life of its own.
