Wrecking Crew - PSA 9.6 A+ Sealed [Hangtab, 1 Code, Mid-Production], NES Nintendo 1985 USA. Sealed copies of Wrecking Crew are notoriously elusive, with PSA's March 2026 population report listing just a single copy of this variant-now surpassed in grade by this newly certified example. The last time a sealed copy of the game sold publicly was way back in 2019, courtesy of Heritage Auctions. It's a hangtab edition, a style that disappeared from U.S. shelves as Nintendo shifted its packaging approach in mid-1987. Originally, the game's lead character was planned as a generic construction worker, but Shigeru Miyamoto proposed incorporating Mario and Luigi instead. A Black Box launch title from the NES test market era, Wrecking Crew gave Mario one of his early appearances in a puzzle-driven setting, where players had to think ahead, using ladders, hammers, and enemy manipulation to clear each stage efficiently.
