"The Magic Lantern Theatre" Baltimore Inner Harbor and Pratt Street Power Plant Revitalization Project for Six Flags "Power Plant Live!" - LARGE Original Concept Art Signed by Eddie Martinez - Gouache on 38" x 28" Paper Mounted to Board - Created by Landmark Entertainment (LEG, 1983). This impressively large piece of concept art was created for The Magic Lantern Theater at Six Flags' Power Plant, part of the 1983 Baltimore Inner Harbor and Pratt Street Power Plant revitalization project by Landmark Entertainment Group. Rendered in gouache on 38" x 28" paper and mounted to board and signed by concept artist Eddie Martinez, the artwork captures Landmark's cinematic vision for the multimedia attraction. Opened in 1985, the Six Flags Power Plant was Landmark's bold attempt to bring theme park-style attractions into an urban setting. The Magic Lantern Theatre served as one of its centerpiece experiences: a dazzling multi-image presentation blending film, projection mapping, lighting effects, and surround sound. Drawing inspiration from pre-cinema projection while using cutting-edge 1980s technology, the show embodied Landmark's reputation for spectacular, immersive entertainment. Martinez, known for his bold gouache renderings, provided key illustrations that helped visualize Landmark's ambitious projects for clients and investors. His work reflected the dramatic, theatrical style the firm used to sell its urban entertainment concepts. This rare oversized piece shows age toning, taped margins, staining, and pinholes, but these can be easily matted over and framed for display. Condition is Good.
