Aeon Flux "Pilot" Æon Flux and Breen Soldier Production Cel Signed by Peter Chung with Key Master Background (MTV, 1991). From "Pilot," the episode that compiled the first six shorts of Æon Flux on MTV's Liquid Television, we have in this lot a rare Key Master setup featuring a low-angle image of our titular protagonist and a laughing Breen soldier. This "first season" consisted of two-minute shorts keeping viewers on the edge of their seats, concluding with the shocking death of our protagonist. This stunning image was created for the scene at the 5:12 timestamp, presenting Æon standing at 4.25" x 4.5" with the amused Soldier showing a figure size of 4.75" x 7.25", showcasing Peter Chung's signature on the bottom area of the cel. The astounding Key Master background shows the location of the Breen base rendered in gouache on a 14" x 10.25" background board, featuring the remarkable overlay cel with the linework. The cel has its layers stapled by the top corners and glued by the bottom edge, with the overlay cel layer adhered to the background. Presenting overall light handling and edge wear from production, the lot is in Very Good condition.
