2026 November 12 Santa Claus Classics, Western Adventures, and Other Peculiar Rarities From The Jack and Joan Homkow Private Collection Comics Showcase Auction #40383
Auction Overview:
The Jack and Joan Homkow Private Collection is an archive of nearly 2,000 comics focused on ACG, Charlton, Harvey, and other often overlooked publishers, as well as more prominent publishers such as DC. Jack's love of comics began early when his father brought home new arrivals every week from his stationery store. What started as a casual interest grew into a serious pursuit alongside his wife, Joan, as the couple sought out the highest-grade copies they could find, using Ernst Gerber's The Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books as a guide. After Joan's untimely passing, Jack stopped actively collecting but continued to preserve the archive as a tribute to their shared passion.
Holiday magic meets frontier action in this four-color celebration of festive fantasy, hard-riding Westerns, and offbeat rarities. Striking covers and lively artwork recall a newsstand era of yule logs, white hats, and a new adventure all in color for a dime. Exceptional copies hail from the Church/Mile High, Vancouver, and Davis Crippen pedigrees. For collectors venturing beyond superheroes, this showcase offers nostalgia, adventure, and plenty of derring-do.
