"Certainly a testament is warranted here. I reached out to Rick about potentially consigning books, as I had heard he was working at Heritage. I had never consigned before, but given my previous experience as a buyer with Heritage and knowing Rick, it made sense for him to be my first call. The experience turned out far better than I could have expected, or even hoped for. Rick immediately responded to my inquiry with the two or three questions to consider before making a decision. Upon receiving a list from me of the books I was looking to sell, I received an offer back same day of more than half of what I was hoping to get as an advance, and a more than fair deal on the final take post auction. I had asked for about the amount that I would look to sell the books for, had I tried to sell them on my own. I didn’t expect an offer of that amount, but wasn’t sure of process. The number was about $50k. I ended up with a check in hand, same day Rick received my books for more than half of that. My final take, after Heritage got their take ended up in excess of $70k. I would not have attempted to sell them for that much if I had sold them on my own. Efficient, they did all the work, easy to work with, fair, honest, a big portion advanced, and my books displayed in the best comic auction there is, selling for great prices.
