Frank Miller and Klaus Janson Daredevil
#185 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1982).
The Man of Fear's
radar sense is shocked and scrambled in this explosive cover
illustration by Frank Miller from the heralded run on the series
that thrust him into Marvel superstardom. At once arresting and
compelling, Miller creates a stunning design for the story "Guts,"
with Daredevil "crucified" against open white space, accented with
expressive back-lit body shapes. Miller's Daredevil
universally considered one of the high spots in all of comics
history, and covers from the series are extremely scarce in the
marketplace. This one is indisputably one of the top images from
the great artist's peak period. Simply put, this cover is Miller at
his iconic best -- and as an added bonus, the killer image of DD in
the corner box is all Miller original art, pencils and inks! The
art has an image area of 9.75" x 15", and aside from a missing
issue number stat, its condition is Excellent. Signed by Miller at
the lower right.
