DescriptionBill Watterson and Stephan Pastis Pearls Before Swine Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 6-6-2014 (Universal Uclick, 2014). Precocious Libby whips out another stunning Pearls Before Swine strip, this time blowing Stephan Pastis' mind by picturing him as a "square-jawed cartooning stud." Not bad for a second-grader, eh? Actually, it's downright wonderful, because "Libby" is none other than award-winning cartoonist Bill Watterson, in the third of three daily collaborations that have recently sent shock waves through the comic-loving world. Mr. Watterson's brilliant ten-year run on Calvin and Hobbes is one of the high points in the history of the medium, and fans have been waiting patiently for him to return to the drawing board ever since that celebrated strip ended on December 31, 1995.
The artwork is in ink over graphite on Bristol board; it has an approximate image area of 16.75" x 5.25", and is in Excellent condition. The art is being sold to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, on behalf of Team Cul de Sac. Heritage is honored to be involved with such a worthy cause, not to mention how thrilled we are to see new art from one of our favorite artists back in the papers! More, please!!
Please note that the art is signed by Watterson; this signature was deleted from the newspaper version.
