Description:
Detective Comics #33 (DC, 1939) CGC VF 8.0 Cream to off-white pages. In the 800+ issue run, only issue #1 and issue #27 have higher Overstreet values than #33, and we have only sold one copy that has topped this offering in grade, to date! Overstreet ranks this issue #17 on its Top 100 Golden Age Comics list. This benchmark book has the first told origin of Batman along with a classic cover by Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson. He was an unkinder, grittier Batman then -- note the gun holster on the cover, while inside, one story ends with our hero holding a smoking gun... Wow! This issue would be only Batman's fourth cover appearance ever. Kane, Sheldon Moldoff, and Fred Guardineer interior art. The last 8.0 issue to be auctioned, sold for over $83,000, so don't expect to pick this bad boy up for even close to guide. Overstreet 2013 VF 8.0 value = $47,000. CGC census 11/13: 2 in 8.0, 3 higher.

This is why I like purchasing from Heritage, you are so customer oriented and with your size and my meager purchases it always amazes me how quickly you respond.
