Description:

Marvel Mystery Comics #6 (Timely, 1940) Condition: PR. Carl Burgos, Paul Gustavson, and Bill Everett art. Everett's Sub-Mariner story features Namor being put to death on an electric chair, (but the electricity just makes him strong). The Ka-Zar story has extreme violence with eyes gouged out. Extensive, extremely amateur restoration. It's got a hand-drawn cover done in marker, color pencil, and watercolor. Rather crudely done, but not without some innocent charm. Under the outer cover is some kind of black and white photographic reproduction of the cover that has darkened dramatically with age. The first wrap is missing, but pages one and two are represented by mechanical reproductions, also deeply darkened. The last two pages of the Ka-Zar story are not reproduced. The centerfold is present, and in good condition. Overstreet 2005 GD 2.0 value = $742.

William Blake Everett: William Blake "Bill" Everett (American, 1917-1973): The American Golden and Silver Age comic book artist best known for creating Prince Namor, the Sub-Mariner, and for co-creating the Marvel Comics character Daredevil, the Man Without Fear. Everett was a descendant of the poet William Blake.
