Description
Charles Schulz Peanuts Historic First Frieda Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 3-6-61 (United Features Syndicate, 1961). Frieda made her debut with this episode, and here she utters her famous signature line, "I have naturally curly hair." Frieda's character was inspired by Charles Schulz's longtime friend, Frieda Rich, an art instructor whom he met while working at the Art Instruction Schools in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Charles Schulz autographed and inscribed this episode to his inspiration, "To Frieda with every best wish and fond memories of all the good ol' days -- Sparky." The image area of this landmark strip measures approximately 27" x 5.5", and it has been matted and framed to an overall size of 31" x 11.25". Aside from a fold between panels two and three (standard with dailies), the art is in Excellent condition. From the Frieda Rich Collection.More information about Charles Schulz.
