Description
Tales of Suspense #39 (Marvel, 1963). Key Silver Age issue features the origin and first appearance of the Invincible Iron Man, one of Marvel Comics' most enduring and successful characters. Story art by Don Heck and classic cover by Jack "King" Kirby. Very attractive tight and clean copy, has alluring teal-green cover with sharp grays and rich ruby reds. Perfectly flat comic has exact centering and very clean cover edges with no chipping, no creasing and no tears. Slight bit of stress at top corner of spine, minor stress at top staple and a dust shadow at right edge of front cover and bottom edge of back cover. A nicer copy than the grade would indicate. CGC VF 8.0 Cream to off-white pages. Overstreet 2001 VF 8.0 value = $2,480; NM 9.4 value = $5,200.
