Description
Tales of Suspense #39 (Marvel, 1963) CGC VF 8.0 Off-white pages. He may be a bit hard to recognize in that clunky grey getup, but that's Iron Man, and this is his first appearance! The entertaining origin yarn was the work of scripter Larry Lieber and artist Don Heck. And wouldn't you know it, they were guided by the hands of masterminds Stan Lee (plot) and Jack Kirby (layouts). This cover of this key issue is by Kirby. The list of top artists doesn't stop there: Steve Ditko and Gene Colan each drew one backup feature. Overstreet 2004 VF 8.0 value = $3,550.View the certification for CGC Certification ID 0607984004, including grader's notes if available and a link to the latest full census report for the issue.*
