Daredevil #1 (Marvel, 1964) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white pages. It's the finest copy of this issue that we've ever offered. In fact, CGC hasn't certified one higher than this to date. That's typical of the key Marvel origin issues of 1961-64; that is, NM+ 9.6 is as good as it gets. Of the ten main Marvel superhero titles, only a single copy of Amazing Spider-Man #1 and two copies of X-Men #1 have earned grades higher than CGC NM+ 9.6 to date. And such a high grade is more evident on this Jack Kirby/Bill Everett cover than most, because of the prevailing white background. Gorgeous! Collectors have driven the demand for high-grade key Marvel Age issues to such a level, that this beauty will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of our sale, perhaps setting a new record for a winning bid for any copy of the issue. Bill Everett provided the interior art for the first appearance of Daredevil (Matt Murdock) and the first appearances of Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. Overstreet 2010 NM- 9.2 value = $7,500.
