Description

Tales of Suspense #39 Pacific Coast pedigree (Marvel, 1963) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white to white pages. This is the highest-graded copy of this Silver Age Marvel key we've ever offered, and the issue is a very hot book indeed. It's the first appearance and origin of Iron Man, and this issue has seen steady increases in value over the past few years thanks in part to the character's adventures on the silver screen. The iconic cover is by Jack Kirby, with interior art by Don Heck and backup feature art by Steve Ditko and Gene Colan. This key is so much in demand that it continues to stay ahead of the Overstreet values, and this pristine Pacific Coast copy has the highest grade given to this issue by CGC so far. Overstreet 2012 NM- 9.2 value = $32,000. CGC census 7/12: 3 in 9.6, none higher. From the Doug Schmell / PedigreeComics.com Collection.
