Description

Lady and the Tramp Three-Cel Set-Up With Disney Oil-Painted Art Props Background (Walt Disney, 1955). One of the most beloved and desirable scenes in the history of Disney Animation, this piece is one of the undisputed highlights of our auction. This "Bella Notte" production cel set-up has Lady on one cel, Tramp with a mouth full of spaghetti on the second cel and the third has the table with tablecloth, spaghetti and the meatballs in the plate along with the bread sticks and the candle.
The background is rendered in oil, which is very rare, and it was created by the Walt Disney Art Props Department using the original background layout drawing as reference.
Disneyland opened in 1955, one month after the release of Lady and the Tramp. Inside the park, on Main Street at the Art Corner store where Disney animation cels were sold, this piece was created to hang in that store as a signature piece for the opening of the Art Corner location. The cel is in mint condition and has the original mat and gold sticker on the reverse. Paint is flawless. Tramp is 5", and Lady 4". The single most romantic scene in the history of animation!
