Gus Arriola - Gordo Daily Comic Strip Original Art, dated 8-8-49 (United Feature Syndicate, 1949). One last "kees" for a dying Gordo. But was he really shot? Lots of excitement in this early Gordo daily by Gus Arriola. The image area measures 18.75" x 5". There is some scattered soiling, and staining, and a fold down the center (created when the art was sent to the syndicate); otherwise the condition is Very Good.
Al Avison- Humphrey Comics #19 Complete 2-page Story "Humphrey Raises the Roof" Original Art (Harvey, 1951). Lovable Humphrey charms his fans again in this delightful two-pager. Each page has an image area of 12" x 18", and aside from a darkened title logo, the art averages Very Good condition.
Al Avison- Humphrey Comics #19 Complete 1-page Story "Underwear Scarf" Original Art (Harvey, 1951). Humphrey tackles a "triss-pusser" in this center spread drawn on one large sheet of paper. The piece has an image area of 25.5" x 18". The page was folded vertically down its center panel "gutter;" otherwise, the condition of the art is Very Good.
Ray Bailey(attributed) - Warfront #6 Complete 5-page Story "Night Shadows" Original Art (Harvey, 1952). Ray Bailey (or maybe Lee Elias) out-Caniffs Milton Caniff with the dramatic cartooning displayed on each page of this rousing yarn. The image area of each page measures 12" x 18", and the art is in Excellent condition.

Chilly Willy "Chilly's Cold War" Animation Production Cel #1150 and Drawing Original Art, Group of 4 (Walter Lantz Productions, 1970). With his job on the line, Smedley attempts to "whisk" Chilly out of his master's house, in the 1970 short, "Chilly's Cold War." These two original hand-inked and hand-painted animation production cels feature Chilly Willy and Smedley. Also includes the two production drawings which were used to create these cels. Two great production art pieces make up this incredibly Mad lot: an original airbrushed art painting of a pin-back button (similar to the "happy face" buttons from the cover of issue #150), on a 15.5" x 20" sheet of bristol, with an acetate overlay; and the complete production art, including type on acetate overlays and printer's instructions, of the infamous "Voodoo Doll", from Mad Special #1 consisting of original "basketweave" art and overlays (featuring "flopped" type and keylines) on a piece of 24.5" x 20" illustration board. Writer Frank Jacobs complied this group of leftover Mad pieces for the feature, "The Mad Clearance Catalogue of Unwanted Articles, Features, Gimmicks, and Premises", thus unloading older art (by Don Martin, Dave Berg, Jack Rickard, Sergio Aragones, Al Jaffee, and two by Bob Clarke) on unsuspecting readers! A great way to obtain a sampling of Mad art by some of the best! Jeff and Skinny decide to take advantage of their ten minute basic training break and take a dip in a lake, in this Al Smith Sunday titled "March of the Wooden Soldiers." Jack Sparling - True Love Problems and Advice #41, Complete 6-page Story "Island of Hope" Original Art (Harvey, 1949). Jack Sparling drenches this heart-throbbing yarn with drama! The image area of each page measures 12" x 18.5". There is some light overall aging apparent; otherwise the art is in Very Good condition.
Angelo Torres - Mad #241 Panel Page Original Art, Group of 2 (EC, 1983). "Little Known Celebrity Cult Groups" are the subject of these six ink and gray wash illustrations, by master Madman Angelo Torres. Each illo measures approximately 7.5" x 4" or 4.5", on two pieces of bristol board; one measuring 20.75" x 15", the other 20.75" x 12.25". Both pieces are in Excellent condition. From the moment his first smash film ended, Robber Rabbit's career goes down the tubes, in this four-pager by Angerlo Torres. Rick Tulka - Mad #299 "Mad Revisits the 21st Century Ahead of Time" Illustration Original Art, Group of 16 (EC, 1990). Rick Tulka polishes off the ol' Mad crystal ball for a peek into the future, in these funny illustrations. Pencil and ink wash on heavy-ply bristol board, each with a tracing paper overlay which includes photocopied type blocks for position, some of which are missing or slightly damaged from storage. Fourteen various size drawings are on 12" x 11" board, while two larger illos are on 17.5" x 11"; all illustrations are in Excellent condition. From the Mad Magazine Archives.

Dwayne Turner, Chris Ivy, and Joe Rubinstein - Wolverine #69, and 72 Page Original, Group of 3 (Marvel, 1993). Dwayne Turner pencils these three pages, including page 10, and 16, from the Larry Hama story, "Induction in the Savage Land" (Wolverine #69, inked by Chris Ivy), and page 4 from "Sleeping Giant," also written by Larry Hama (Wolverine #72, inked by Joe Rubinstein). Each page has an image area of 10" x 15". Some very light staining on page 16 (issue #69); otherwise both pages from this issue are in Excellent condition. Some glue stains from missing word balloon and type box paste-ups on the issue #72 page; otherwise its condition is Good. Both Chris Ivy inked pages signed by Ivy at the bottom right. George Tuska and John Tartaglione - X-Men #43, page 7 Original Art (Marvel, 1968). The incomparable Magneto uses his invincible magnetic might to destroy a cargo ship, in this page from the story, "The Torch Is Passed...!," written by Roy Thomas. The image area measures 10" x 15". Each strip has an image area of 26.5" x 6.75". Some overall aging is apparent; otherwise they average in Very Good condition.
Raeburn Van Buren - Abbie and Slats Daily Comic Strip Original Art, Group of 3 (United Feature Syndicate, 1957). Detailed Raeburn Van Buren art is the focus of these Abbie and Slats dailies, dated 9-2-57, 9-4-57, and 9-9-57. Each strip has an approximate image area of 19" x 5", and, aside from some light overall aging, they average Very Good condition.
Raeburn Van Buren - Abbie and Slats Daily Comic Strip Original Art, dated 9-24-59 (United Feature Syndicate, 1959). Alabama Brown discusses his new play, which will be "packed with significance!" We like the way that, even though this is basically a conversation between two men, Van Buren still manages to sneak a hot babe into panel two. Image area measures 19" x 5.25" and the art is in Very Good condition.
Sam Viviano - Mad #278 Complete 2-page Story Original Art (EC, 1988). Get hip to what the stars like Brooke Shields, Michael Jackson, and Frank Sinatra are perusing in this "Celebrity Reading Lists" feature by Sam Viviano. Ink and blue marker (to indicate type location); the Sinatra head is a pasted-on original art correction. This two-page spread was drawn on a single 26" x 18" piece of bristol. A bit of storage damage has bent and slightly torn the bottom right corner of the board; however, the image area remains untouched and in Excellent condition. From the Mad Magazine Archives.
