The Flash Races to Heritage!

DALLAS, TEXAS: Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers (HG&A) will offer the finest known copy of the landmark Flash Comics #1, the fabled Mile High Copy, in their upcoming Comic and Original Comic Art Signature Auction, to be held January 20 & 21, 2006, in Dallas, Texas.

"This is a significant book no matter how you look at it," said Ben Samuels, Consignment Director for HG&A. "Not only does this key Golden Age title feature the origin and first appearance of the Flash, a charter member of the Justice Society of America, comics' first super team, but it also introduces founding JSA teammates Hawkman and Johnny Thunder, as well as Shiera Sanders and the Whip! To top it all off, it hails from the legendary Mile High Collection and is the finest copy known to exist! If that doesn't get your four-color blood pumping, I don't know what will!"

"Currently ranked as #8 on Overstreet's list of 100 Top Golden Age Books," Samuels said, "this is also far and away the finest copy certified by CGC to date, with its nearest competitor a distant 8.5. There have only been thirteen copies of this book graded as unrestored, with the other eleven grading 6.5 and below."

"There are a number of exciting Golden Age keys in this auction," Samuels said, "but this book, with its stunning condition and impeccable pedigree, will be one of the stars."

Flash Comics #1, CGC-graded NM+ 9.6 with off-white to white pages, has a pre-auction estimate of $250,000.
