White Mountain Copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 Caught in Heritage's Web!

Dallas, Texas: Heritage Comics Auctions (HCA) will offer the White Mountain copy of Amazing Fantasy #15, CGC NM 9.4 with off-white to white pages, featuring the origin and first appearance of Spider-Man, in their upcoming Signature auction, to be held May 18-20 at the New Yorker Hotel in New York City.

"This is one of the finest copies of this landmark book I've ever seen," said Ed Jaster, Director of Acquisitions for HCA. "The White Mountain Collection, originally from new England, was an assemblage of comics from the 1950s and 60s which are renowned for their exceptional condition. Many collectors view the White Mountain books as comparable in quality to the legendary Mile High comics of the Golden Age, and this book in particular certainly lives up to that high standard."

"When this copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 was first sold in a Sotheby's sale in the early 1990s," continued Jaster, "it fetched a record-breaking price. Since then, it has been part of some of the hobby's most impressive collections, and we're proud to offer it now. Stunning condition, brilliant page color, exceptional gloss?this book has it all. Couple that with Stan 'The Man' Lee's liltin' lyrics and 'Sturdy' Steve Ditko's delightful drawings, and you've got a breathtaking book that can't be beat, effendi!"

"Of course, I don't have to expound on the effect that Spider-Man has had on popular culture. With 40 years of comic book adventures, a long-running newspaper strip, a TV series, two blockbuster feature films (with a third on the way), not to mention a plethora of licensed products bearing his webby image, this book should certainly set your Spidey-sense atingling if you have any interest in comic books, mass media, pop culture, or just Old Webhead himself."

This copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 has a pre-auction estimate of $150,000.
