Heritage to Offer Many Significant Pedigree Comics!

Dallas, Texas: Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers (HG&A) will a number of CGC-graded, Golden Age pedigreed comics in their upcoming Comic and Original Comic Art Signature Auction, to be held January 20 & 21, 2006, in Dallas, Texas.

"Included in this auction are many excellent examples of the finest pedigreed books known to exist," said Ed Jaster, Vice-President for HG&A. "These are books that any collector would be proud to own."

"The legendary Mile High Collection is represented by several sterling examples in this upcoming auction," said Jaster, "including gorgeous copies of such desirable books as Lev Gleason's Daredevil Comics #1, CGC-graded NM 9.4 with White pages, More Fun Comics #73 - the first appearance of Green Arrow and Speedy, as well as the origin and first appearance of Aquaman - CGC-graded NM 9.4 with White pages, and Flash Comics #1, CGC-graded NM+ 9.6 with Off-white to white pages."

"Another highly respected pedigree is the Crowley Collection," said Jaster, "and we're pleased to present a number of stunning books that bear this impressive designation. Offered in this auction are such choice specimens as Whiz Comics #54, CGC-graded NM/MT 9.8 with Off-white pages, Jackie Robinson Comics #4, CGC-graded NM/MT 9.8 with Off-white pages, and Wow Comics #69, the last issue of that title, CGC-graded NM 9.4 with Off-white pages.

"Another impressive pedigree is the Vancouver Collection," Jaster said. "Less well-known than some others, due to its largely being held in private hands for years, these books are being released into the collectors market for the very first time. As nice as the best of the Mile High books, the comics in the Vancouver Collection should prove extremely attractive to high-grade collectors. Some of the gems of this collection include Namora #1, CGC-graded NM/MT 9.8 with White pages, Four Color #161 Tarzan and the Fires of Tohr, CGC-graded NM/MT 9.8 with White pages, Western Comics#5, CGC-graded NM+ 9.6 with White pages, and Super-Magician Comics V1 #9, CGC-graded NM+ 9.6 with White pages.

"Other pedigrees are also well-represented in this auction," said Jaster, "with such high-grade gems as More Fun Comics #52 - the origin and first appearance of the Spectre - CGC-graded NM- 9.2 with Off-white to white pages from the Larson Collection, the Denver copy of Daring Mystery Comics #1, CGC-graded NM 9.4 with Off-white pages, the Kansas City copy of Captain America Comics #1, CGC-graded VF/NM 9.0 with cream to off-white pages, the Rockford copy of Adventure Comics #72 - featuring Joe Simon and Jack Kirby's first work for DC - CGC-graded VF+ 8.5 with Cream to off-white pages, and the Gaines File copy 1/12 of Aces High #1, CGC-graded NM+ 9.6 with Off-white to white pages."

"All in all," Jaster continued, "this is an exceptional auction for anyone interested in high-grade and finest-known specimens of significant Golden Age comics. Come January, I expect to see quite a lot of bidding activity on these lovely books."
