Description:
Sloppy Jalopy Pan Production Background (UPA, 1952). Phil Eastman and Bill Scott wrote a great Mr. Magoo script about Magoo going shopping on his own for a new car. The same slimy character from Trouble Indemnity returns, only this time as a Used Car Salesman. The test drive takes them for a ride on Rollercoasters, Ferris Wheels, and all sorts of bad driving. Directed by Pete Burness, this short came out on February 21, 1952. This is a magnificent vertical pan production background painting measuring approximately 10" x 35". An amazing painting in its own right, very 1950s stylized You see the top of the Rollercoaster as well as the Ferris Wheel, bridges, and ocean. It looks very much like Coney Island with the water and bridge nearby! Fine condition. From the Pete Burness Archive.

UPA Studios:. Animation studio.
