Description:
Charlie Brown/Peanuts Ford Falcon Commercial "Snoopy Happy Dance" Production Drawing Group by Bill Melendez (Playhouse Pictures, c. 1959). As Linus is talking in one of the earliest Ford Falcon commercials, Snoopy zips across the screen in his signature "Happy Dance." This historic test sequence of 30 drawings of Snoopy in his dance are the first to come from the hand of animator Bill Melendez, who produced the classic Peanuts animated TV specials beginning in 1965. The drawings are all in ink and graphite on 12-field animation paper, each hand-numbered in the lower right corner. Snoopy averages 2.5" to 3" in the sequence. There is some staining on five of the drawings (none near the images); overall Good condition. From the Playhouse Pictures Archive.
