Description:
The Ford Show Schroeder and Charlie Brown Peanuts Opening Sequence Production Cel Set-Up (Bill Melendez/Playhouse Pictures, 1960). Tennessee Ernie Ford had his own TV show on NBC from 1956 to 1961, sponsored by Ford Automobiles. When Peanuts introduced the Ford Falcon in 1959, they became part of the in-show sponsor segment. This is an original hand-inked and painted production cel of Charlie Brown and Schroeder from the opening of the show. The multi-cel set-up includes a 4.5" Charlie Brown and 4" Schroeder. A sticker at the bottom reads, "Peanuts characters Copyright 1950 United Features Syndicate." The background of plain gray paint is cracking, but doesn't really detract from the character cels, which are in Fine condition. This image is included in an 8" x 10" photo mounted to black board with a sticker that reads, "Diploma Award - 1960 Ford Motor Company, J. Walter Thompson, New York, VII International Advertising Film Festival, Venice." The cel is matted and framed with glass for an overall size of 17" x 13". From the Playhouse Pictures Archive.
