Description:
Frank Miller and Klaus Janson Batman: The Dark Knight Returns #4 Final Page 47 Original Art (DC, 1986). From the famed series that redefined the Batman franchise for the modern audience, here is an incredibly important page -- the final page to the entire four-issue Dark Knight Returns saga. This legendary mini-series is undoubtedly one of the most influential comic books of the century. TDKR, along with the Watchmen, initiated a decade of dark-and-gritty imitators, none of which captured the raw power of the original. Dark Knight Returns pages have been commanding impressive prices in recent auctions -- and still, demand still far outstrips supply. Easily the most inspiring and uplifting page from the series we have ever seen -- much less offered -- this concluding scene, where Batman passes his crimefighting legacy to his personally trained "army," has an image area of 11.5" x 17.5". Aside from four tape residue stains in the borders, the art is in Excellent condition. Signed by Frank Miller in the lower right margin.

Miller, Frank:Frank Miller (American, b. 1957): is a multi-talented cartoonist, writer, and film director, most celebrated for his work on the Marvel characters Daredevil, Elektra, and Wolverine, as well as on his own characters for the Dark Horse titles Hard Boiled, 300, and Sin City. In the late eighties, Miler became the first and foremost of a new breed of "noir" comic book storytellers, thanks to the tremendous popularity of his work on the industry-changing Batman: The Dark Knight Returns series. He also directed the film version of Will Eisner's The Spirit, and shared directing duties with Robert Rodriguez on Sin City, and produced the film 300..
