Description:
X-Men #1 (Marvel, 1963) CGC NM- 9.2 White pages. The comic book that started one of Marvel's most lucrative trademarks, in the 50 years since this issue hit the stands it has introduced dozens of popular characters, spawned countless spin-off titles, and generated toys, animated series, features films, and more. Ironically, sales of the comic initially lagged so far behind other Marvel titles that it went into reprints for a few years before being revived with a new cast of characters in the 1970s
This key issue features the origin and first appearance of the X-Men (the Angel, the Beast, Cyclops, Iceman, and Marvel Girl), plus the first appearances of their mentor Professor X and arch-nemesis Magneto, all with cover and interior art by Jack Kirby. Not only is this a striking high-grade copy, it also boasts pristine white pages. Overstreet 2012 NM- 9.2 value = $35,000. CGC census 11/12: 12 in 9.2, 17 higher.
