Description:
Frank Miller and Klaus Janson Daredevil #172 Hand Colored Kingpin and Bullseye Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1981). In "Gang War," thinking his wife is dead, the Kingpin takes control of the mob and hires Bullseye as his assassin. Daredevil takes Bullseye down but leaves the Kingpin in power to rebuild his organization. Frank Miller's slam-bang cover scene starring Daredevil, the Kingpin, and Bullseye is presented in glowing hues in one of the top covers from the legendary run. Penciled by Frank Miller and inked by Klaus Janson, it was professionally hand colored in mixed media during the 1980s, though we have not been able to identify the colorist. The art has an image area of 10" x 15", and aside from missing its pasted-on type elements, it's in Excellent condition.

Miller, Frank:Frank Miller (American, b. 1957): is a multi-talented cartoonist, writer, and film director, most celebrated for his work on the Marvel characters Daredevil, Elektra, and Wolverine, as well as on his own characters for the Dark Horse titles Hard Boiled, 300, and Sin City. In the late eighties, Miler became the first and foremost of a new breed of "noir" comic book storytellers, thanks to the tremendous popularity of his work on the industry-changing Batman: The Dark Knight Returns series. He also directed the film version of Will Eisner's The Spirit, and shared directing duties with Robert Rodriguez on Sin City, and produced the film 300..
