Description:
John Byrne Fantastic Four #267 Complete 22-page Story "A Small Loss" Original Art (Marvel, 1984). In this landmark yarn, due to the radiation she was exposed to Sue is suffering complications with her pregnancy. Reed has gathered the world's foremost experts in radiation research to no avail. Will he do the unthinkable and turn to the brilliant, albeit unstable, mind of Doctor Otto Octavius? Can the infamous Doctor Octopus help the Invisible Girl, or is his mind too unstable to be trusted? Don't miss this tale that will change the lives of the Fantastic Four forever. Indeed, this infamous issue featured the tragic miscarriage of Sue Richards. John Byrne Fantastic Four originals from his peak period are quite scarce in the marketplace as they're feverishly snapped up by longtime collectors -- not only that, how many times do you have the chance to buy a complete story? This Marvel classic, "A Small Loss," guest-stars Bruce Banner (the Hulk), Walter Langkowski (Sasquatch), and Michael Morbius (the Living Vampire), with a cameo by Spider-Man. It's vintage John Byrne at his finest. Each page has an image area of 10" x 15", and they average Excellent condition. See all of the pages at HA.com/7063!

Byrne, John:John Byrne (Canadian-American, b. 1950): broke into comics in 1974. Working mostly for Charlton at first, he soon moved to Marvel, and in 1977 he took over penciling The X-Men, collaborating with writer Chris Claremont and inker Terry Austin, and quickly becoming a fan-favorite as well as one of the highest paid artists in the industry. Among Byrne’s most celebrated stories are his runs as artist on Captain America (1979-80), and writer-artist on the Fantastic Four (1981-86) and Alpha Flight (1983-86), as well as a six-issue run on the Incredible Hulk. In 1986 DC hired Byrne to revamp Superman, but he left the character after only two years due to creative differences. Byrne returned to Marvel, working on the Sensational She-Hulk, Avengers West Coast, and Namor, the Sub-Mariner. Among Byrne’s many later works are the creator-owned John Byrne’s Next Men, as well as more work for DC and Marvel.
