Description:
X-Men #1 Pacific Coast pedigree (Marvel, 1963) CGC NM/MT 9.8 White pages. They don't get much better than this amazing, jaw-dropping pedigreed copy of the comic book that launched one of Marvel's most lucrative trademarks. This key issue features the origin and first appearance of the X-Men (the Angel, the Beast, Cyclops, Iceman, and Marvel Girl), plus the first appearances of their mentor Professor X and arch-nemesis Magneto, all with cover and interior art by Jack Kirby.
In the 50 years since this issue hit the stands, it's launched dozens of popular characters, spawned countless spin-off titles, and generated toys, animated series, features films and more -- an ironic amount of popularity given that sales of the comic initially lagged far behind other Marvel titles to the extent that it went into reprints for a few years before being revived with a new cast of characters in the 1970s.
This copy is the finest we've ever had the chance to offer, and while it may not be a 10 for all intents and purposes it is a perfect specimen, even boasting white pages. It currently ties with one other copy for the top spot in the CGC's census for the issue. Overstreet 2012 NM- 9.2 value = $35,000. CGC census 7/12: 2 in 9.8, none higher. From the Doug Schmell / PedigreeComics.com Collection.

Testimonials:
You gave me several alternatives and explained the pros and cons of each. I concluded that you were someone I could trust and that you would do a good job for me. And you sure did!
