Description:
Frank Miller and Klaus Janson Daredevil #185 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1982). The Man of Fear's radar sense is shocked and scrambled in this explosive cover illustration by Frank Miller from the heralded run on the series that thrust him into Marvel superstardom. At once arresting and compelling, Miller creates a stunning design for the story "Guts," with Daredevil "crucified" against open white space, accented with expressive back-lit body shapes. Miller's Daredevil run is universally considered one of the high spots in all of comics history, and covers from the series are extremely scarce in the marketplace. This one is indisputably one of the top images from the great artist's peak period. Simply put, this cover is Miller at his iconic best -- and as an added bonus, the killer image of DD in the corner box is all Miller original art, pencils and inks! The art has an image area of 9.75" x 15", and aside from a missing issue number stat, its condition is Excellent. Signed by Miller at the lower right.

Miller, Frank:Frank Miller (American, b. 1957): is a multi-talented cartoonist, writer, and film director, most celebrated for his work on the Marvel characters Daredevil, Elektra, and Wolverine, as well as on his own characters for the Dark Horse titles Hard Boiled, 300, and Sin City. In the late eighties, Miler became the first and foremost of a new breed of "noir" comic book storytellers, thanks to the tremendous popularity of his work on the industry-changing Batman: The Dark Knight Returns series. He also directed the film version of Will Eisner's The Spirit, and shared directing duties with Robert Rodriguez on Sin City, and produced the film 300..
